PreGASS®-6500 Portable FTIR Gas Analyzer is an instrument that uses Fourier transform technology to process spectral data. Its working principle is as follows: An infrared beam is emitted from the light source, passes through the sample, and is received by a detector. The sample absorbs infrared radiation at specific frequencies and intensities, forming a curve of wavelength versus absorbance (infrared absorption spectrum). This spectrum is then processed via Fourier transform to yield a curve of frequency versus absorbance (Fourier transform infrared spectrum). The resulting spectrum reveals the vibrational states of various functional groups in the sample, enabling analysis and identification of its composition and structure..
